Crypto exchange Gemini is allowing customers affected by Voyager’s bankruptcy to transfer their crypto to Gemini and withdraw their funds. However, Gemini only supports certain cryptocurrencies, and any unsupported crypto sent from Voyager to Gemini may be lost and unrecoverable. Transferring tokens over an unsupported network can also result in the loss of funds. It is important for customers to perform necessary checks before making a cryptocurrency deposit. Additionally, Gemini is offering a promotional welcome for new customers who migrated from Voyager, with $5 worth of bitcoin provided after sign-up and verification within 30 days. Voyager’s bankruptcy plan administrator expects withdrawals to start between June 20 and July 5, with the app being updated on June 15 to display available withdrawal amounts. Voyager filed for bankruptcy in July 2022 after Three Arrows Capital owed the brokerage $650 million. The crypto transfer window with Gemini will be open until July 23, 2023, and any tokens not withdrawn by then will be liquidated and distributed as cash to customers.
