The Klaytn Foundation, the organization behind South Korea’s Klaytn blockchain, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Matter Labs, the team behind Ethereum scaling solution zkSync Era. The collaboration aims to integrate zkSync Era’s Hyperchain implementations on Klaytn, creating a Hyperchain Layer powered by ZK-Rollups outside of Ethereum. The partnership will focus on enhancing connectivity between Klaytn and zkSync Era, developing new Layer 2 blockchain technology for Klaytn, and establishing Klaytn as a Hyperchain infrastructure. This collaboration will accelerate the growth of the Klaytn ecosystem and the development of Layer 2 and Layer 3 implementations. Matter Labs has deployed zkSync version 1 and recently introduced zkSync Era and the ZK Stack. Dr. Sam Seo, the Representative Director of Klaytn Foundation, and Marco Cora, the senior vice president of business and ecosystem at Matter Labs, both expressed optimism about the partnership and the potential for scalability and connectivity. This collaboration will enable Klaytn builders and ecosystem participants to enjoy lower fees and higher throughput while maintaining the security provided by Klaytn. The progress of the partnership will be shared through social channels and communities.
