Sony Subsidiary Pours $3.5M Into Startale Labs to Accelerate Global Web3 Adoption

Sony Network Communications, a subsidiary of Sony, has partnered with Startale Labs, a Japanese Web3 tech company, in an effort to promote global adoption of Web3. Sony has invested $3.5 million in the collaboration and aims to expand its exploration of Web3 and blockchain technology. The partnership will focus on developing all-in-one solutions for Web3 development and integrating real-world assets into the ecosystem. Startale Labs CEO, Sota Watanabe, emphasized the importance of providing a smooth user experience and allowing users to interact with Web3 without needing extensive knowledge of blockchain technology. Jun Watanabe, President and Representative Director of Sony Network Communications, has also taken on the role of Director at Startale Labs. The two companies previously co-hosted a Web3 Incubation Program, which provided resources and guidance to Web3-related startups. Sony’s involvement in Web3 initiatives extends beyond this partnership, with other branches of the company, such as Sony Interactive Entertainment, actively participating in ventures related to NFTs and the Web3 ecosystem.
