Tether, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the government of Georgia to promote the development of crypto, web3, and peer-to-peer (P2P) technologies in the country. The partnership aims to attract foreign investment and develop resilient communication and financial systems through blockchain and P2P technologies. Tether will also collaborate with local startups and academic institutions to support the growth of innovative technologies. The company plans to launch a special fund that will provide resources for web3 startups in Georgia, including grants and investments. Paolo Ardoino, CTO of Tether, sees this collaboration as a significant milestone for the company. Despite its controversies, Tether has been actively contributing to global crypto adoption, with recent projects in El Salvador and Uruguay.
