Elon Musk’s Potential Blockchain-Based Social Media Platform
Did you know that Elon Musk is exploring the idea of creating a social media platform powered by blockchain technology? This fascinating revelation comes from a sneak peek into Musk’s upcoming biography, written by Isaacson.
In the biography, Isaacson discusses one of Musk’s controversial decisions – acquiring Twitter. Musk’s interest in the future possibilities of Dogecoin (DOGE), a cryptocurrency that has captured his attention, is also explored.
When news of Musk’s Twitter stock acquisition broke, he arranged a private dinner meeting with Twitter’s CEO, Parag Agrawal. While Musk admired Agrawal’s personality, he had reservations about his leadership style. Musk believed that Twitter needed a “fire-breathing dragon,” which he didn’t see in Agrawal.
During a lunch meeting with his brother, Kimbal, the day after the dinner, Musk was introduced to the idea of a blockchain-based social media platform. This concept intrigued Musk, who even contemplated incorporating Dogecoin as a payment option on the platform.
In a text message to Kimbal, Musk elaborated on his vision for “a blockchain social media system that integrates both payments and short text messages, similar to Twitter.”
While Musk clarified that he won’t be launching a native token on the platform, the possibility of implementing DOGE for payments is still uncertain.
