Startups Embrace Web3 with $5 Million Seed Funding
A startup called D3 Global has recently secured $5 million in seed funding to merge the utility of web3 with existing internet infrastructure. Led by Shima Capital and with participation from Arthur Hayes’ Maelstrom and others, this funding round will support D3’s mission to bring added interoperability, utility, and security to both web2 and web3 versions of the internet.
D3 Global aims to revolutionize the domain name industry by utilizing blockchain technology to offer secure digital identities. The company plans to acquire new Top Level Domains during ICANN’s upcoming application window to provide natively supported secure identities on all browsers and devices.
The Promise of the ‘Real Metaverse’
D3’s investors have expressed confidence in the company’s ability to merge web3’s focus on interoperability and digital ownership with traditional internet infrastructure. They believe D3 is uniquely positioned to revolutionize the domain name industry in this new era of web3 and interoperability.
In addition to its innovative approach to domain names, D3 is also launching an on-chain marketplace for domains, including over 1,000 top level domains. The startup’s seed round investors include Lightshift, Dispersion Capital, VentureSouq, Infinite Capital, and Identity Digital founder Paul Stahura.
