Ripple Expands University Blockchain and Research Initiative (UBRI) in Europe
Ripple, a leading blockchain company, recently announced the addition of four esteemed European institutions to its University Blockchain and Research Initiative (UBRI). This initiative aims to foster blockchain research and education in the region, and the partner universities will play a vital role in achieving this objective.
The new European partners include Trinity College Dublin, EPITA, IE Madrid, and the University of Trento. With these additions, Ripple now has a total of 14 European partners.
IE Madrid, for instance, has planned a three-day workshop on virtual asset regulation in collaboration with Ripple’s UBRI. This workshop will address applied research, entrepreneurship, and corporate transformation in the context of virtual asset regulation.
Ripple has been actively supporting blockchain education and research by committing a total of $11 million to its partners since 2014. Furthermore, the company’s collaboration with a UK-based education program focuses on XRPL-related projects to encourage innovation and adoption of the network.
According to Eric van Miltenburg, SVP of Strategic Initiatives at Ripple, Europe is well-positioned to accelerate blockchain education. He emphasizes the importance of equipping the next generation with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to leverage blockchain technology for real-world applications.
