Animoca Brands Raises $20 Million for Mocaverse Project
Hong Kong-based Web3 investor Animoca Brands has successfully raised $20 million for its Mocaverse project. The funding round was led by CMCC Global and saw participation from other investors such as Kingsway Capital, GameFi Ventures, and Liberty City Ventures. The Mocaverse project aims to develop Web3-native tools for gaming and entertainment products, with a vision to become the identity and point system for Web3 gaming, entertainment, and culture. As part of the fundraise, Animoca Brands has granted investors a free-attaching utility token warrant on a 1:1 basis. The capital raised will be used to advance the Mocaverse project, including product development, facilitating Web3 adoption, and securing partnerships.
Moca ID System and Loyalty Points
In addition to the Mocaverse project, Animoca Brands plans to launch Moca ID, a non-transferable NFT collection that allows users to create their own chain identity and participate in the Mocaverse ecosystem. Moca ID holders will have exclusive access to Mocaverse ecosystem experiences and the opportunity to earn loyalty points through active engagement. These loyalty points will power a permissionless and interoperable loyalty system that can be integrated by third parties. The funding round led by CMCC Global aims to unify Animoca Brands’ portfolio of companies and provide access to Web3 and metaverse ecosystems for millions of users.
