The AMF Introduces Online Course to Certify Influencers
The Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), France’s financial regulator, has unveiled an online training course designed to award a certificate to legitimate influencers. The AMF believes that this initiative will contribute to the professionalization of commercial influence, which is now regulated by law. The certificate, known as the Responsible Influence Certificate, requires influencers to correctly answer at least 75% of 25 multiple-choice questions. However, influencers must also obtain the General Certificate developed by the Autorité de Régulation Professionnelle de la Publicité. This comprehensive training module covers not only traditional investment products like equities and ETFs but also cryptocurrencies and crowdfunding.
Protecting Investors with Certification
The goal of this certification is to shield investors from overly complex or risky financial products, according to Marie-Anne Barbat-Layani, the chair of the AMF. The AMF has been actively advocating for crypto regulation since the beginning of the year. Despite these regulatory efforts, France remains a crypto-friendly hub, attracting various cryptocurrency businesses that are registered with the AMF and comply with audits of governance and anti-money laundering measures.
