The only crypto-related searches to surpass NFTs were for “What is cryptocurrency?” with an average of 39,466 searches.

The analysis also revealed that U.S. residents were particularly interested in understanding the meaning behind the abbreviation “NFT.” The phrase “What does NFT stand for?” received an average of 13,516 monthly searches, which is 816% higher than the average.

Exploring the Blockchain

Following NFTs, Americans showed a strong interest in learning about the blockchain. The phrase “What is the blockchain?” had a search rate of 26,283, which is 1,681% higher than the average search volume for analyzed questions. On the other hand, searches for “What is blockchain technology?” averaged at 5,285, while queries for “How does the blockchain work?” averaged at 1,419.

Understanding Cryptocurrency Mechanics

The analysis indicated that there is significant curiosity among U.S. residents regarding how cryptocurrency works. The phrase “How does cryptocurrency work?” had an average monthly search rate of 4,683, which is 217% higher than the average. Additionally, searches for “What is cryptocurrency mining?” averaged at 6,725 per month, and queries for “How to mine cryptocurrency?” averaged at 1,866.

Interest in Decentralized Finance

Marketplace Fairness’ analysis also found that the term “decentralized finance” garnered an average of 2,850 monthly searches, which is 93% higher than the average.
