BitBoy Crypto Influencer Sparks Debate with Controversial Donation Appeal

BitBoy Crypto Influencer Starts Donation Campaign for Legal Battle

Crypto influencer BitBoy, also known as Ben Armstrong, has initiated a donation campaign to fund an ongoing legal battle. He has managed to raise some funds, although not everyone is supportive of the crypto YouTuber.

BitBoy Asking For Donations

On September 20, Ben Armstrong requested donations to support his legal fund after media firm HIT Network allegedly took away all his money, leaving him unable to fight back.

The influencer then made a plea for crypto donations:

“I’m humbly asking anyone who has ever benefitted from my content or anything I’ve done to help donate to my legal fund to get BitBoy Crypto back.”

At the time of writing, the provided address already held 24.7 ETH worth around $40,000. Additionally, smaller donations of fractions of an ETH were steadily coming in over the past four hours.

Armstrong claims to have been subjected to blackmail, extortion, public humiliation, death threats, and falsehoods. He asserts that he possesses evidence supporting these claims.

HIT Network Responds and Lawsuit Against YouTuber Dropped

HIT Network responded on September 20th by stating that the court denied Armstrong’s emergency motion seeking restoration of his position with the company. However, they expressed confidence that the court would validate their actions taken to protect the company and its employees.

In late August, Armstrong filed a lawsuit against fellow YouTuber Erling Mengshoel (Atozy), but he subsequently dropped the defamation suit to prevent it from becoming public knowledge.

Mengshoel expressed gratitude to the crypto community for raising $200,000 to support his defense against BitBoy’s case.

Opposition to Donations

Blockchain sleuth ZachXBT questioned BitBoy’s plea by asking about the people who lost money due to his promotion of questionable projects and meme coins.

Trader “EmperorBTC” criticized Armstrong’s request for donations, citing his alleged involvement in promoting and dumping shady coins that resulted in financial losses for innocent individuals.

“Satoshi Flipper” accused donors of contributing to the erosion of trust among honest influencers and their followers by supporting BitBoy. They argued that people have suffered financial ruin due to his past actions.

Investor “Crypto Tony” expressed disappointment in BitBoy’s plea, highlighting his substantial wealth and calling it a low move towards his community.

Hot Take: The Controversy Surrounding BitBoy’s Donation Campaign

BitBoy Crypto influencer Ben Armstrong has launched a donation campaign to support his legal battle, but the response has been mixed. While some supporters have contributed funds, others are critical of Armstrong’s past actions, claiming he promoted sketchy projects and meme coins that caused financial losses for unsuspecting individuals. The controversy has sparked a debate within the crypto community about whether or not to support him. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of transparency and responsibility within the crypto influencer space. As the legal battle continues, it remains to be seen how this controversy will impact BitBoy Crypto’s reputation and future endeavors.
