Algorand Foundation Announces Build-A-Bull Hackathon
The Algorand Foundation has opened registration for Build-A-Bull, a global virtual hackathon with $200,000 in prizes. The hackathon, powered by Algorand Ventures and in collaboration with AWS, will take place from October 18 to November 15, 2023. Anyone can participate by registering for free.
Create Consumer-Friendly Applications on Algorand Blockchain
Build-A-Bull is a four-week hackathon aimed at developing consumer-friendly applications using the Algorand blockchain’s power and scalability. Participants will have the opportunity to conceive a business concept, accelerate its development, and present a final product to expert judges. Throughout the process, participants will receive support and mentorship to bring their ideas to life.
“With Build-A-Bull, we expect to attract a new wave of promising builders to come into the Algorand ecosystem,” says Ryan Terribilini.
The hackathon includes five tracks: Defi, Gaming, Consumer, Interoperability, and Impact. Each track winner will receive $25,000 and will be invited to pitch to investors on a ‘demo day.’ There will also be additional prizes such as $10,000 Grand Prize determined by public on-chain vote and $25,000 in AWS credits.
Judging Panel and Evaluation Criteria
The judging panel consists of industry leaders and investors including QCP Capital, DWF Ventures, and Blockchain Capital. Projects will be evaluated based on criteria such as team strength and skillset, project design and interface, pitch quality, and market adoption viability.
