Rated Labs Raises $12.888 Million to Expand Blockchain Infrastructure Datasets
Crypto startup Rated Labs has secured $12.888 million in Series A funding to broaden its infrastructure datasets for Ethereum and other blockchain networks. The funding round was led by crypto venture firm Archetype, with participation from seed investors Placeholder, 1confirmation, Cherry and Semantic, as well as new backers Robot Ventures, Chorus One, Factor, and Maelstrom. This brings Rated’s total funding to over $15 million, following last year’s $2.5 million seed funding round. Rated Labs currently offers an Ethereum network explorer, a data API, and an oracle. With the new capital, the company plans to expand its offerings to multiple Layer 1 blockchain networks.
Expanding Offerings and Features
Rated Labs aims to extend its services to other Layer 1 blockchain networks including Polygon, Solana, Cosmos, and Polkadot in the coming year. Additionally, the company plans to enhance its explorer and API with new features and real-time functionality for all supported networks. CEO Elias Simos also envisions playing a similar role in decentralized sequencer sets in Layer 2 networks. While there are no direct competitors to Rated at present, beaconcha.in and Metrika are the closest alternatives.
Growth Plans and Leadership
Rated Labs currently employs 12 full-time staff members but intends to double its headcount by hiring primarily in the engineering department over the next few quarters. As part of leading the Series A round, Archetype’s founder Ash Egan has joined Rated’s board.
