Cointelegraph’s podcast recently reached its 20th episode milestone. To celebrate, co-hosts Jonathan DeYoung and Ray Salmond decided to interview each other and discuss their experiences hosting the show, their journeys in the blockchain space, and their predictions for the future of Bitcoin.
Lessons Learned from Hosting
During the interview, DeYoung asked Salmond if he had learned anything new from hosting the podcast. Salmond emphasized the importance of focusing on a project’s long-term fundamentals rather than short-term token prices. He encouraged listeners to look beyond token prices and consider the progress a project is making towards its mission statement.
In return, Salmond asked DeYoung about his initial attraction to blockchain technology. DeYoung explained that after joining Cointelegraph, he realized that decentralization in crypto aligned with his beliefs in community disaster resilience. He saw blockchain as an extension of this concept on a larger scale.
The Future of Crypto
Both hosts were curious about each other’s visions for the future of crypto. DeYoung expressed his belief that mass adoption is inevitable. However, he cautioned that powerful interests could co-opt the technology, similar to what has happened with the internet.
Salmond agreed that crypto would go mainstream and dismissed the idea of another bubble bursting soon. He also predicted that corporations and governments would adopt Bitcoin, although he didn’t see it replacing the dollar as an international reserve currency.
