Galxe Website Compromised Due to DNS Hijack Attack
The official website of Galxe, a web3 credentials and rewards platform, was recently compromised in a DNS hijack attack. The Galxe team confirmed the incident and advised users not to use the site. During the attack, hackers exploited the DNS to gain control of Galxe’s website link and redirected users to a phishing site that aimed to steal their funds.
According to Galxe, the compromise targeted their account with the domain name registrar, Dynadot. The team is actively resolving the issue and urged users to refrain from visiting the site until it is resolved.
User Funds Lost in the Attack
Unfortunately, some users have suffered financial losses as a result of this incident. Crypto sleuth ZachXBT noted that an address linked to the hacker has received funds from Galxe users. This address has accumulated over $140,000 in user funds. Interestingly, this same address was associated with a similar DNS hijack attack on the Balancer exchange in September.
