Breaking the Speed Barrier: The Open Network (TON) Sets Out to Achieve a World Record in Blockchain Velocity

TON Foundation to Attempt Guinness World Record for Fastest Blockchain

The Open Network Foundation, also known as the TON Foundation, has announced its plan to become the officially recognized fastest blockchain in the world by Guinness World Records. To showcase the speed, scalability, and reliability of The Open Network (TON) blockchain, a public network performance test is scheduled for October 31, 2023.

For this performance test, the TON Foundation will collaborate with Alibaba Cloud and set up 256 servers for validator nodes. A separate TON blockchain network will be created specifically for the test.

Rapid Growth and Reliability of TON Blockchain

Since 2022, the TON blockchain has experienced significant growth. The number of addresses on the network has increased by 20 times, going from 170,000 to an impressive 3.5 million. The expansion of TON validator nodes to 350 has also contributed to a more decentralized network spread across 25 different nations.

Despite this rapid growth, the TON blockchain has maintained a reliable track record with no major network disruptions reported.

TON Foundation’s Collaboration with Telegram

The recent collaboration between TON Foundation and Telegram further emphasizes the foundation’s commitment to bringing decentralized technology to mainstream adoption. The upcoming performance test is a crucial step in showcasing the unique capabilities of the TON blockchain as it solidifies its position as the trusted infrastructure layer for the Web3 ecosystem in Telegram.

Anatoly Makosov, Core Development Lead at TON Foundation, expresses excitement about confirming TON’s technical superiority among other blockchains through this public performance testing.
