Introducing Trezor’s Latest Hardware Wallet and Metal Backup for Private Keys

Trezor Celebrates 10th Anniversary with New Product Releases

Trezor, a leading provider of hardware cryptocurrency wallets, is marking its 10th anniversary by launching three new self-custody products. These include a new Trezor wallet, a proprietary private key backup solution, and a Bitcoin-only wallet.

Trezor Safe 3: A New Hardware Wallet

The Czech Republic-based company has officially announced the release of Trezor Safe 3, its latest hardware wallet that supports over 7,000 cryptocurrencies. This launch is seen as a significant milestone in Trezor’s efforts to provide entry-level hardware wallets.

The Trezor Safe 3 wallet comes almost five years after the introduction of the Trezor Model T in February 2018. Priced at $79, the new wallet is available in four colors: Solar Gold, Stellar Silver, Galactic Rose, and Cosmic Black.

Open-Source Development and Security

The new Trezor Safe 3 wallet device continues Trezor’s commitment to open-source development. The wallet utilizes open-source principles when it comes to security, allowing for the publication of any potential vulnerabilities discovered. Trezor has partnered with a third-party secure element vendor to ensure this.

Trezor Keep Metal: Physical Private Key Storage Solution

In addition to the Trezor Safe 3 wallet, Trezor has introduced its own physical private key storage solution called Trezor Keep Metal. This product offers users a way to securely store their recovery keys against various threats such as fire, water, acids, and impacts.

Trezor Keep Metal is priced at $99 and supports both 12-word and 24-word standard backups. There is also a version catering to three 20-word Shamir backups, which is available for $249.

Bitcoin-Only Hardware Wallet

Trezor has also released a limited-edition run of its Bitcoin-only hardware wallet, consisting of only 2,013 devices. For each sale, Trezor will donate €21 to support the Trezor Academy, an initiative focused on Bitcoin education. This move aims to recognize Bitcoin’s potential in empowering individuals in underprivileged and marginalized communities.

Hot Take: Trezor Celebrates a Decade of Innovation and Security

Trezor’s 10th anniversary is marked by the release of three new self-custody products that further enhance the company’s reputation as a leader in hardware cryptocurrency wallets. The launch of the Trezor Safe 3 wallet introduces an entry-level hardware wallet supporting a wide range of cryptocurrencies. Meanwhile, the introduction of Trezor Keep Metal offers users a physical backup solution to ensure the security of their recovery keys. Lastly, the limited-edition Bitcoin-only hardware wallet not only provides users with a secure way to store their BTC but also contributes to Bitcoin education through donations.
