Ethereum Could Soar Over 2,100%: Global Bank Predicts
Standard Chartered, one of the world’s largest banks, believes that Ethereum (ETH) could experience a massive surge of more than 2,100%. The UK-based bank predicts that Ethereum will reach $8,000 in about three years and eventually skyrocket to as high as $35,000.
Geoff Kendrick, an analyst at Standard Chartered, cites increasing use cases and layer-2 scaling solutions built on Ethereum as key factors behind this price forecast. Kendrick highlights Ethereum’s dominance in smart contract platforms and its emerging uses in gaming and tokenization as drivers for future growth.
Kendrick also expresses optimism about planned upgrades to Ethereum. In early 2024, the implementation of “proto-danksharding” is expected to increase transaction speed and reduce costs.
If Ethereum were to reach $35,000, it would represent a staggering 2,173% increase from its current trading price of $1,540. Standard Chartered manages $820 billion in assets and is ranked as the 43rd largest bank globally.
Hot Take: Ethereum’s Potential for Exponential Growth
Standard Chartered’s bold prediction of Ethereum’s potential surge by over 2,100% highlights the bank’s confidence in the cryptocurrency’s future. With increasing use cases, layer-2 scaling solutions, and planned upgrades on the horizon, Ethereum is poised for significant growth. The projected price targets of $8,000 and potentially even $35,000 demonstrate the bank’s belief in Ethereum’s dominance in the smart contract space and its ability to revolutionize gaming and tokenization. If these forecasts prove accurate, investors stand to gain substantial returns from their Ethereum holdings.
