Analogue is known for creating premium upgraded consoles that offer higher resolution and modern enhancements while still using the original hardware of the devices. They have previously released upgraded versions of the Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, TurboGrafx-16, and Game Boy.

While Analogue has not yet announced the price for the Analogue 3D, their previous consoles have been priced higher than average aftermarket retro consoles. The Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis renditions sell for $200 each, while the Game Boy rendition sells for $220. Analogue CEO Christopher Taber has stated that the price of the Analogue 3D will be “in the range” of their other consoles.

The Nintendo 64 was released in 1996 as a successor to the Super NES and sold approximately 33 million consoles worldwide, competing against the original Sony PlayStation.
