The integration of XRP is made possible through a partnership with Xsolla, a global video game startup that handles in-game payments for Roblox. BitPay will serve as the facilitating partner for seamless integration with cryptocurrency wallets.
Roblox is accessible on various platforms, including Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. With a daily active user base of 65.5 million, the platform attracts a significant number of users under the age of 13.
In the first quarter of 2023 alone, Roblox users spent nearly $773 million on in-game purchases, highlighting the platform’s profitability.
Xsolla and BitPay Partnership
Xsolla, launched in 2005, provides tools and services for game developers to market and monetize their games across multiple platforms. The company aims to help its partners expand globally and increase revenue by addressing challenges in game distribution.
The partnership between Xsolla and BitPay dates back to 2014 when they collaborated to process BTC payments for gamers worldwide. Since then, Xsolla has continued to accept various cryptocurrencies supported by BitPay. In September 2023, BitPay announced that Xsolla would be one of the first merchants to accept PayPal USD (PYUSD) for online transactions.
