Introducing the Inaugural NFT Collection from the Norman Rockwell Museum

The Norman Rockwell Museum and the Norman Rockwell Family Launch NFT-Backed Series

The Norman Rockwell Museum and the Norman Rockwell Family have partnered to release a multi-part series called “Studio Sessions: The Norman Rockwell Collection.” This series, which combines digital and physical works by the late artist, includes never-before-published images and process works from the Rockwell archives. It is the first venture into NFTs by the Rockwell estate and was created in collaboration with Iconic, a platform that helps traditional art institutions explore emerging technologies.

The collection will be available for purchase starting November 1 on Iconic’s website. The specific works included in the collection have not been disclosed yet. Buyers can purchase the NFTs using credit cards or Ethereum, although pricing details have not been revealed.

All proceeds from the sale will go towards supporting the Norman Rockwell Museum’s mission of providing public access to Rockwell’s works and nurturing young illustrators. Additionally, the funds will support the administration of Rockwell’s work and legacy by the Norman Rockwell Family.

A Glimpse into Rockwell’s Creative Process

“Studio Sessions” will offer a unique look into Rockwell’s creative process, featuring thousands of preliminary sketches, photography sessions, drawings, and painted color studies that influenced his paintings. Each “Session” in the series will focus on a specific celebrated Rockwell painting, and every NFT will come with a limited-edition museum-quality print.

Norton Moffatt, director of the Rockwell Museum, expressed their excitement about entering the world of digital editions as a way to preserve and promote Norman Rockwell’s artwork. Moffatt sees this project as an innovative way to continue their commitment to showcasing illustration art.
