Introducing Microbt’s M60 Series in Dubai: High-Efficiency Bitcoin Mining Rigs with 18.5 J/T

Whatsminer M60 Series Unveiled at Blockchain Life 2023 Conference in Dubai

During the Blockchain Life 2023 event in Dubai, Microbt introduced its latest Whatsminer M60 series. This new series consists of three next-generation miners, each boasting an impressive efficiency rating of 18.5 joules per terahash (J/T). The launch was teased by the company in mid-September, with a promise of enhanced efficiency.

The M60 Series: Air-Cooled, Hydro-Cooled, and Immersion-Cooled Miners

The M60 series includes three variants: an air-cooled model, a hydro-cooled model, and an immersion-cooled model. All three models deliver the same efficiency rating of 18.5 J/T. The air-cooled M60S offers a hashrate range of 170 to 186 terahash per second (TH/s), while the hydro-cooled M63S ranges from 360 to 390 TH/s. The immersion-cooled M66 miner churns out an impressive hashrate range of 270 to 298 TH/s.

Competition Among Mining Rig Producers

This unveiling aligns with recent releases from other leading mining rig producers. Bitmain’s new S21 models have efficiency ratings ranging from 16 J/T to 17.5 J/T, with hashrates spanning from 200 TH/s to 335 TH/s. Canaan’s latest Avalon 14 offers an efficiency metric of 19.5 J/T, exclusive to its hydro-cooled version. The air-cooled counterpart of the Avalon 14 registers at 21.5 J/T. These new offerings from top producers aim to optimize efficiency and elevate hashrates.

Bitcoin’s Hashrate and Network Performance

As of October 23, 2023, Bitcoin’s seven-day simple moving average hashrate is currently coasting along at 452 exahash per second (EH/s). The network’s hash value, priced per petahash per second (PH/s), has climbed to $72 per PH/s daily as the value of bitcoin surged this week.

Hot Take: Enhanced Efficiency and Elevated Hashrates Set to Drive Crypto Mining

The introduction of Microbt’s Whatsminer M60 series, along with the latest offerings from other mining rig producers, demonstrates a trend towards enhanced efficiency and elevated hashrates. These advancements are set to supercharge the network’s cumulative hashrate and drive the future of crypto mining. As competition among producers continues to heat up, we can expect further innovations that optimize energy consumption and improve overall performance in the mining industry.
