Unstoppable Domains Expands into the .com Namespace
Web3 domain service provider, Unstoppable Domains, has made an announcement that it is entering the .com Namespace, allowing users to purchase “.com” addresses. This move aligns with the company’s recent expansion efforts and makes it the first player in the industry to offer both traditional .com domains and third-party Web3 domain names for use in web3.
Expansion Plans
Unstoppable Domains plans to enable all the features currently available for web3 domains to work with users’ .com domains. The CEO and founder of Unstoppable Domains, Matt Gould, expressed excitement about this expansion, stating that it is a major milestone for the company’s mission to become a one-stop shop for web3 domains. He emphasized the opportunity to bridge web2 and web3 by uniting both types of domains.
In addition to offering .com domains, Unstoppable Domains will soon allow customers to attach digital wallets to their managed .com domains. This will enable users to receive and send cryptocurrencies through these easy-to-remember addresses using user-friendly interfaces like Coinbase Wallet and Metamask.
Growth Trajectory
Unstoppable Domains currently has around 3.9 million registered domains. The company recently launched ‘Unstoppable Messaging,’ an end-to-end encrypted Web3 domain messenger that promotes decentralized communication while prioritizing privacy. Earlier this year, Unstoppable Domains added support for ENS domain endings.
