Highly Anticipated Incentivized Testnet Launches for Saga Protocol
Saga, a leading Layer-1 protocol and developer ecosystem in web3 gaming, has officially launched its Incentivized Testnet named Pegasus. This marks the first step towards the full-featured Saga Protocol V1 Mainnet launch scheduled for early 2024. The Incentivized Testnet is designed to provide game creators with more freedom to express their creativity on the Saga platform.
Pegasus: Accelerated Development and Enhanced Support
Pegasus has undergone accelerated development since its reveal at the Saga Multiverse Summit in August. It now supports both Saga’s Innovators and partners. The Saga Protocol offers an integrated stack of automated, high-performance, gasless, interoperable, and customizable chains known as Chainlets. The main Realm on the protocol is the Saga Chainlet Realm.
Configurable Realms and Architectural Components
Saga Realms allow developers to launch customizable chains with different features and services. Today’s launch supports configurable Realms right from the start. The Pegasus Incentivized Testnet includes the Saga Chainlet Realm, as well as the necessary architectural components for all other Realms to be onboarded, including the security chain and platform chain that will constitute the Saga Mainnet.
Airdrop for Community Participation
To celebrate the Incentivized Testnet launch, Saga is rolling out a campaign where participants can receive SAGA tokens through an airdrop. Developers, end users, validators, and community members who participate in launch quests and exhibit helpful behaviors will be eligible for this airdrop. The first group to receive tokens will be Saga’s Innovators.

Saga has a strong and dedicated community. As part of the launch, Saga also welcomed Cohort 5, the latest class of Innovators into its ecosystem. With this addition, there are now 282 Innovator projects being developed on Saga, with over 300 expected by the Mainnet launch in 2024.
