Bybit Concludes Inaugural Inter-College Hackathon in UAE
Bybit, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges globally, has successfully concluded its first-ever Inter-College Hackathon at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The event garnered significant interest and participation from students.
Competing in New Tech
The hackathon featured 63 participants who demonstrated their skills and creativity in blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI) applications. The competition, known as the ‘CryptoAI BUILDER Challenge,’ consisted of 15 teams competing for top honors in two categories: Literacy and Security.
The winners in the Literacy track were ‘Cyber ciphers,’ followed by ‘Team 7’ and ‘Code Comet (Sato_Bot).’ In the Security track, ‘WhiteHats’ claimed first place, with ‘Cyber Guardians’ and ‘DEDSEC’ securing second and third place respectively.
A Global Crypto Ark
This hackathon was part of Bybit’s initiative to establish itself as the global Crypto Ark. It offered a prize pool of 80,000 AED (approximately $21,780) and led to the creation of the Bybit Scholarship at AUS.
Bybit’s co-founder and CEO, Ben Zhou, expressed his excitement about the talent showcased by the younger generation and emphasized Bybit’s commitment to supporting these innovative minds. Dr. Imran Zualkernan, head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at AUS, highlighted the significance of blockchain and AI technologies for the UAE’s economy.
Bybit’s Other Accomplishments
In addition to the successful hackathon, Bybit recently received top ratings in spot and derivative trading categories from CCData, making it the first and only exchange to achieve this feat. Bybit has also listed PayPal’s stablecoin PYUSD, launched spot trading, introduced its Wealth Management product, and partnered with Paradigm, a leading institutional liquidity network for crypto derivatives.
