Poloniex Crypto Exchange Hacked
The Justin Sun-led Poloniex crypto exchange is currently under attack, with attackers siphoning off over $60 million in digital assets such as Tron (TRX), Pepe (PEPE), and Magic (MAGIC). The attack was first detected by Peckshield, a blockchain security firm, which noticed unusual transactions from wallets linked to Poloniex. The firm alerted the exchange to the suspicious activity.

Despite this, Poloniex did not acknowledge the attack but had frozen its wallet for maintenance. However, by that time, the attackers had already made off with a significant amount of assets. Justin Sun has assured the community that Poloniex “maintains a healthy financial position” and promised to reimburse affected users for their losses.
Stolen Assets and Community Response
The tokens that have recorded the most losses so far include GLM with over $2.58 million stolen, Chainlink’s LINK with $2.4 million, and 0X with over $2.29 million stolen. There is less than $4 million left in the wallet that previously held around $67 million. Wise Advice, a crypto educator and YouTuber, advised followers to remove their funds from the exchange immediately.
We are currently investigating the Poloniex hack incident. Poloniex maintains a healthy financial position and will fully reimburse the affected funds. Additionally, we are exploring opportunities for collaboration with other exchanges to facilitate the recovery of these funds.
