Biopic of Dogecoin Advocate Elon Musk Reportedly in Development at A24 Films
A biopic about billionaire Elon Musk, a longtime supporter of Dogecoin (DOGE), is said to be in the works at a major movie studio. According to Variety, the film is being developed at A24 Films, with Darren Arosfksy set to direct. Arosfksy is known for his work on Black Swan, Requiem For a Dream, and The Whale.
The movie will be based on an authorized biography of Musk written by Walter Isaacson, which was released in September. Previously, Isaacson’s book about Apple co-founder Steve Jobs was adapted into a film in 2015.
Musk has been a vocal fan of Dogecoin for years. In April 2021, he announced that SpaceX would “literally” put a Dogecoin on the moon. In April 2023, DOGE surged 30% after Musk temporarily changed the Twitter logo to that of a Shiba Inu, the dog that represents Dogecoin.
In July, it was revealed that Musk kept Dogecoin as a payment option for Tesla while removing the source code for Bitcoin payments. In August, Musk’s lawyers moved to dismiss a lawsuit alleging that he manipulated the price of Dogecoin.
