Ripple’s developer arm has rewarded $1.3 million through XRPL Grants to 22 projects in various Web3 sectors such as GameFi, DeFi, and NFTs, chosen by a global expert panel. Funding amounts ranged from less than $10,000 to over $100,000, with key projects including EVM Finance, DeXfi, and ChatXRP.
Ripple’s strategy is to bolster its potential and has unveiled the recipients of XRPL Grants Wave 6, supporting 22 projects from 13 countries leveraging XRP Ledger (XRPL). The projects cover various fields, including GameFi, DeFi, NFTs, and developer tooling, with a global panel of knowledgeable judges reviewing each project. The next wave of applications will reopen in 2024, emphasizing Ripple’s commitment to ongoing support.
The Most Noteworthy Projects
DeFi solutions focused on improving user experience and usability. EVM Finance, a unified DeFi interface, and DeXfi, a DeFi one-stop-shop, offering users similar features, received substantial grants. ChatXRP, the only recipient in the AI space, and EpicTask in the education sector were also recognized. Sustainability-focused projects like EUA Carbon Token and Meta-Carbon were included.
Financial support ranges from microgrants to substantial funding exceeding $100,000. The Ripple executive is considering other jurisdictions as more crypto-friendly, with 55% of the awardees based outside the US, aligning with the company’s decision to expand overseas.
