Mira Murati Plan to Reinstate Sam Altman and Greg Brockman
According to sources, Mira Murati was aiming to rehire Sam Altman and Greg Brockman and was in negotiations with Adam D’Angelo, Quora Inc.’s CEO, who acted as a representative of the OpenAI board. Everything is private and still in flux.
After Sam Altman was fired, Greg Brockman stepped down from the board due to disagreements. Other employees also quit in protest of Altman’s exit. The OpenAI board has faced criticism from the tech community and the firm’s investors over their decision.
Meanwhile, Mira Murati extended an invitation for Sam Altman and Greg Brockman to join executives at the company’s San Francisco headquarters on Sunday.
Elon Musk’s Joke at New Found Appointments
During the conversation to reinstate Altman and Brockman, the board hired Emmett Shear as the new interim CEO for OpenAI. However, Microsoft only agreed to join the OpenAI board if Altman is brought back to the company.
Elon Musk responded to Microsoft’s appointment of Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, sarcastically saying “Now they will have to use Teams!”. This jab came after X users also asked Microsoft to ask OpenAI to use Microsoft Meet instead of Google Meet.
