Popular XRP Wallet Xumm Gains Users Ahead of Evernode Airdrop
XRP wallet Xumm has experienced a significant surge in users ahead of an upcoming token airdrop from layer-2 smart contract platform Evernode.
Growth in User Numbers
Between November 26th and 27th, the number of unique active users on Xumm went from 17,330 to 18,000. But engagement saw a major boost ahead of the airdrop, with active users jumping to 25,377 within just one day, representing a 45% increase.
Large Number of Registrations
Evernode’s team highlighted that within 24 hours of registration, they saw over 10,375 addresses register, which collectively held around 107 million XRP tokens at the beginning of September, the date of the airdrop’s snapshot.
Security Concerns among the XRP community
Despite security concerns among some XRP users and skepticism about linking wallets to Xumm, the number of active users and registrations rose. Evernode explained the complexity of the process to ensure user anonymity.
The Airdrop Registration Process
Participants need to register and import or clone their XRPL r-address onto Xahau, an XRPL sidechain developed by the Xumm team. As of now, Xumm is the only wallet that supports this function that the project is aware of.
Participants’ Options in the Airdrop
Evernode emphasized that not participating is an option for those uncomfortable with using Xumm for registration, urging users to make informed decisions.
Concerns about XRP Whales
Whales’ recent large transactions have sparked a market frenzy. Various large transactions on the XRP network have been made, including ones to Bitstamp and between unidentified wallets.
Hot Take: The Growing Number of Users Is Setting the Stage for the Upcoming Airdrop
The surge in the number of users on Xumm, amid some security concerns about the airdrop registration process, is setting the stage for the token airdrop from Evernode. The Evernode smart contract platform is seeing significant interest from XRP holders who are preparing for the upcoming event.
