Celo Developer Proposes Framework for Layer-2 Decision

Key Features of Celo’s Proposed Framework
The framework highlights important criteria such as Ethereum compatibility, increased security, simple migration with minimal downtime, and governance alignment with Ethereum. It aims to address the priorities and concerns of Celo stakeholders and invites input and suggestions from the community.
Evaluating L2 Stacks Against the Framework
Once a general consensus on the framework is reached by mid-December, cLabs will begin evaluating each Layer-2 stack against the established criteria. The team is open to adjusting the framework based on user suggestions.
L2 Discussion Call and Partnership Announcement
cLabs will hold an L2 discussion call on December 13th to further engage with the community regarding the framework. The recently announced framework builds upon cLabs’ original proposal published in July, which aims to transition Celo to an Ethereum Layer-2 solution.
