Crypto Development Platform Sequence Launches Builder for Game Developers
Crypto development platform Sequence has introduced Builder, a comprehensive dashboard designed to simplify the process of integrating blockchain elements like NFTs into video games. Sequence was developed by Horizon Blockchain Games, a crypto infrastructure and game development company that previously launched the NFT trading card game Skyweaver and secured $40 million in funding from major video game publishers Ubisoft and Take-Two Interactive.
In an interview with Decrypt, Horizon CEO Peter Kieltyka explained that while blockchains are scaling, they require middleware infrastructure and applications like games and apps. Sequence Builder enables game developers to import existing NFT collections, connect with crypto wallets, prepay for gas fees, and launch white-label NFT marketplaces. The platform will also include an NFT minting feature in the future.
User-Friendly Interface
Sequence Builder is designed to offer a user-friendly experience for developers who may not have much knowledge about blockchain technology. It features a minimalistic dark-mode aesthetic and a side navigation menu that clearly outlines its features. Developers can set up wallets with as little as a Twitch login or email address, streamlining the process of creating a crypto wallet.
Seamless Integration with Popular Game Engines
Developers using popular game engines like Unreal Engine and Unity can seamlessly integrate blockchain elements into their games without forcing users to leave the application. By offering integrations with these engines, Sequence aims to address the demand for individual marketplaces among blockchain game developers who want to generate ongoing revenue without relying on third-party experiences.
A Full-Stack Solution
Sequence sees itself as a full-stack solution that sets it apart from competing blockchain gaming platforms such as Stardust or Thirdweb. The platform offers a wide technology stack, including a smart contract wallet and an indexer that organizes blockchain data. Developers can easily connect their games to over 11 different EVM blockchains, including Ethereum’s mainnet, Optimism, Polygon, and Avalanche.
Future Expansion
While Sequence currently focuses on Ethereum networks, CEO Peter Kieltyka stated that they may consider expanding to other networks like Solana if there is enough demand from developers. However, for now, the team is confident in their decision to prioritize EVM integration.
Hot Take: Simplifying Blockchain Integration for Game Developers
Sequence’s Builder platform offers game developers a streamlined solution for integrating blockchain elements into their games. By providing features such as importing NFT collections, connecting with crypto wallets, and launching white-label marketplaces, Sequence aims to simplify the process and make it more accessible to developers without extensive blockchain knowledge. The platform’s focus on user experience and seamless integration with popular game engines sets it apart from other competing solutions in the market. With its comprehensive technology stack and support for multiple EVM blockchains, Sequence provides game developers with the tools they need to leverage the benefits of blockchain technology in their creations.
