AMD and Nvidia Share AI Spoils

In addition to launching the MI300X, AMD has also unveiled its ROCm6 platform for device programming. OpenAI has announced its support for programming the MI300X in its Triton AI software, and companies like Microsoft and Meta are already utilizing the chip for their AI workloads.

Prior to OpenAI’s ChatGPT bot launch, some of Nvidia’s GPUs were used for cryptocurrency mining.
