Donald Trump Unveils “Mugshot Edition” NFT Trading Cards
Former President Donald Trump is offering fans the opportunity to own digital trading cards in his latest NFT sales pitch. The new “Mugshot Edition” trading cards, priced at $99 each, not only provide buyers with dinner with Trump but also a physical trading card containing a piece of the suit he wore during his mugshot. Purchasing 47 cards in a single transaction for $4,653 grants both the dinner and physical card.
Previous Trump NFT drops have included bonuses such as Zoom calls and gala dinner invitations. The suit worn during the mugshot is described as “the most historically significant artifact in United States history” on the NFT drop’s promotional website.
Using cryptocurrency to buy 100 cards at once offers additional bonuses, including a chance to attend a pre-gala cocktail reception with the former president. Buyers of over 100 cards will receive an extra physical card containing a piece of Trump’s tie from the mugshot photo.
Trading Volume for Trump’s First Digital Trading Card Collection
The announcement of the “Mugshot Edition” led to a more than 200% increase in trading volume for Trump’s initial digital trading card collection released in December 2022. However, the total volume remained below $100,000 according to OpenSea data.
NFT INT LLC is managing the offering of 2,024 limited-edition physical trading cards that include a piece of the suit. The website clarifies that NFT INT LLC is not owned or controlled by Donald J. Trump or any affiliated entities.
CIC Digital LLC has licensed the use of Donald J. Trump’s name, likeness, and image to NFT INT LLC. Previously, Trump was listed as CIC Digital LLC’s manager, president, secretary, and treasurer. Public disclosures revealed that the former president owned up to $5 million worth of ether and earned at least $4.9 million from NFT licensing fees.
Hot Take: Donald Trump Expands NFT Offerings with “Mugshot Edition”
Former President Donald Trump continues to capitalize on the NFT craze by introducing the “Mugshot Edition” trading cards. This unique collection not only grants buyers dinner with Trump but also a physical card containing a piece of the suit he wore during his mugshot in Georgia. With previous drops offering exclusive experiences and bonuses, this new edition aims to attract crypto enthusiasts and collectors alike.
While the announcement resulted in a significant spike in trading volume for Trump’s first digital trading card collection, the overall volume remains relatively weak. Nonetheless, the limited-edition nature of these cards, along with the historical significance attributed to the suit, may still generate interest and demand among supporters and investors.
