ZachXBT reports 86.5 ETH stolen in Thunder Terminal on-chain trading platform breach

On-chain trading platform Thunder Terminal experiences exploit

Today, Thunder Terminal, an on-chain trading platform, was targeted in an exploit. The attacker has already transferred 86.5 ETH ($192,000) to Railgun. This information was shared by on-chain sleuth ZachXBT in his Telegram channel.

No compromise of private keys

Thunder Terminal has assured users that their private keys are not compromised. In a recent post on Twitter, Thunder stated that funds were safe and refunds would be processed soon. Only 114 wallets out of over 14,000 were affected by the attack. Thunder managed to stop the attack within nine minutes.

Attacker challenges Thunder’s claims

The attacker disputed Thunder’s statements, calling them “all lies” in an on-chain note. The note also threatened to delete user data if they were paid 50 ETH.

Thunder has not yet responded to requests for comment from The Block.
