Retail traders have been active in the market during the holiday season, according to data from Interactive Brokers. The brokerage firm has compiled a list of the 25 most traded stocks and options between December 18 and December 22. Topping the list is Tesla, with retail investors trading over 163,000 shares of the electric vehicle maker. Other heavily traded stocks include Nvidia, Marathon Digital, and Advanced Micro Devices.
Shares of Tesla were bought and sold in almost equal numbers, while more than 62,000 Tesla options were also traded. Steve Sosnick, chief strategist at Interactive Brokers, highlighted Tesla’s popularity among investors of all types. The stock has experienced significant growth this year, surging over 100%, but it faced a decline of 65% in 2022.
Nvidia saw more than 47,000 shares bought and around 41,000 shares sold. Marathon Digital had nearly 33,000 shares bought and over 29,000 sold. As for Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), traders bought around 26,093 shares and sold 24,760. Additionally, there were more than 32,000 Nvidia options traded, along with over 14,694 for Marathon and more than 16,000 for AMD.
