How to Bridge Your ERC-20 Assets to the Bitcoin Ecosystem
The Bitcoin ecosystem has experienced significant growth in recent years, with the emergence of BRC-20 tokens following the introduction of Ordinals and Inscriptions. Many users are now looking to bring liquidity from EVM blockchains to Bitcoin for increased profitability. In this guide, we will show you how to bridge your ERC-20 assets to the Bitcoin ecosystem.
Step #1 – Connect Your Two Wallets
In order to bring your ERC-20 assets to the Bitcoin blockchain, you must first connect your two wallets to the bridge. To do this, visit XLINK’s bridge platform and click on the “Wallet Manager” button. From there, connect your Stacks chain wallet and your Metamask wallet. Note that XLINK supports five Stack chain wallets: Leather, Xverse, Xverse Mobile, OKX, and Asigna.
Step #2 – Pick Your Source EVM Chain
Next, you need to choose the EVM chain from which your ERC-20 assets originate. Currently, there are two options available: Ethereum and BNB Chain. However, more options may be added by the XLINK bridge in the future.
Step #3 – Select Your Tokens to Bridge
To bridge your ERC-20 assets to the Bitcoin network, you need to select the tokens you wish to bridge. The XLINK bridge currently supports four tokens: $USDT, $LUNR, $WBTC, and $BTCB. Simply click on the down arrow beside the token symbol under the “From” tab and choose the desired token from the menu. Then specify the amount of the token you want to bridge and confirm the transaction.
Step #4 – Track Your Bridging History
To keep track of your bridging history, click on the “History” button at the top right-hand side of the screen. This will allow you to view your history under the “EVM Bridge” tab.
