Practical Strategy Unveiled by US Presidential Hopeful to Disband FBI Upon Election

Vivek Ramaswamy Reveals Plan to Shut Down FBI as President

Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has proposed shutting down the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) if elected President of the United States. Ramaswamy believes that the bureau, which he labels as “toxic,” cannot be reformed and should be completely shut down. He argues that 56% of FBI employees, who are professional bureaucrats, should be fired, while the remaining 44%, consisting of special agents and intelligence analysts, should be reassigned to other federal law enforcement agencies specializing in similar work.

Practicality of the Plan

Ramaswamy emphasizes that his plan to shut down the FBI is more practical than it may seem. He asserts that the President has the authority to carry out this action and he is committed to doing so if elected. Through social media posts, he reiterates that the FBI cannot be reformed and must be permanently closed.

Reassignment to Other Agencies

Ramaswamy outlines where FBI specialists and analysts should be reassigned. He suggests that some should join the U.S. Marshals Service to combat crimes against children, while others should be transferred to the Department of Defense’s Intelligence Agency. Additionally, he proposes reassignment to the Department of Homeland Security to focus on national security and terrorism, and the U.S. Secret Service to combat political corruption. The Department of Justice, the Department of the Treasury, and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) would also receive transfers to target civil rights, organized crime, violent crime, science and technology, and white-collar crime, respectively.

Focus on Crypto and Innovative Sectors

Ramaswamy has recently unveiled his crypto policy, which aims to free innovative sectors, including cryptocurrency, from what he deems as unconstitutional government regulations. If elected President, he intends to rescind most, if not all, of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations that currently apply to cryptocurrencies.

Hot Take: Ramaswamy’s Bold Proposal to Shut Down the FBI

Vivek Ramaswamy’s plan to shut down the FBI is a bold and controversial proposal. While some may argue that reforming the bureau is a more practical solution, Ramaswamy firmly believes that the FBI’s problems are deeply rooted and cannot be remedied. If elected President, he promises to take decisive action to close down the bureau, asserting that the President has the authority to do so. This proposal aligns with Ramaswamy’s broader agenda of dismantling what he refers to as the administrative-police state. However, whether this proposal gains traction among voters remains to be seen, as it challenges the traditional role and perception of the FBI in maintaining national security and combating crimes.
