A new report reveals that a crypto lobbying group called “The Cedar Innovation Foundation” has emerged ahead of the US presidential election. Despite little information being publicly available about the group, it was incorporated in Delaware in April. According to sources, Coinbase, a major US crypto exchange, is expected to donate funds to the nonprofit by the end of 2024. The Cedar Innovation Foundation has hired Mindset, a bipartisan public policy firm, and Bullpen Strategy Group (BSG), a public affairs advocacy firm. The group has reportedly targeted crypto-critical lawmakers such as Senators Sherrod Brown, Elizabeth Warren, and Roger Marshall. A spokesperson for Cedar hopes that these legislators will not be influenced by Wall Street banks and special interests.
