Tools for Humanity CEO Alex Blania has announced plans to update the company’s iris-scanning device, the Orb, to give it a more user-friendly appearance. Blania stated that the new version of the Orb, which is expected to be released in the first half of this year, will look quite different and may resemble an Apple product. The Worldcoin project, which offers cryptocurrency in exchange for iris scans, has faced scrutiny from government agencies over privacy concerns. France, Germany, and the UK have all launched inquiries into whether Worldcoin is violating data privacy guidelines. Worldcoin recently launched in Singapore but paused operations in India and ended registration services in Brazil and France.
