Immutable zkEVM Launches Mainnet for Developers
Immutable zkEVM, a new gaming-centric Ethereum layer-2 network powered by Polygon’s zkEVM technology, has launched its mainnet in “early access,” allowing developers to start building on the chain.
Early Access Configuration
For now, only approved developers can build on Immutable zkEVM as it remains in a limited early access configuration. However, the network aims to open up access to all builders in 2024.
Testnet Availability
While waiting for wider access, studios can experiment and test on the zkEVM testnet.

Immutable Head of Product Marketing Michael Powell stated that the launch of Immutable zkEVM is a significant milestone in creating the best end-to-end experience for Web3 games. The chain empowers game studios to grow their economies, protect their communities, and provide seamless experiences for users.
Upcoming Game Launches
The action role-playing game Guild of Guardians and card-based strategy game Shardbound, both published by Immutable, will launch on Immutable zkEVM in the first half of 2024. MetalCore, a mech-battling action game developed by Studio369, is also set to go live on the network during the same period.

Immutable zkEVM was announced as a collaboration between Polygon and Immutable in March 2023. The network aims to be a core destination for crypto and NFT games.
