SOL Labs Introduces Anza Developer Shop
SOL Labs has established Anza, a developer shop that aims to launch a new validator client for Solana called Agave. This will add to the existing multiple client teams on the network, which include Solana Labs, Jito, and Tinydancer.
Expansion of Solana’s Client Software
Solana initially started with a single client software for developers to access the network. However, it has now expanded to include clients from various teams, including the highly anticipated Firedancer client by Jump Crypto.
Anza’s Contribution: The Agave Client
Anza will contribute to Solana’s ecosystem by introducing the Agave client, which is a forked version of the original Solana Labs client. The Agave client is expected to be released on the mainnet later this year.
Ecosystem-Wide Improvements
In addition to core engineering contributions, Anza has expressed its focus on ecosystem-wide improvements such as token extensions and Solana permissioned environments.
Founding Team Members
The founding team of Anza includes several core members from Solana Labs. Jeff Washington, a former engineer at Solana Labs, will serve as Anza’s CEO. Jed Halfon, who previously managed strategy at Solana Labs, will assume the role of chief strategy officer for Anza.
