Elon Musk Demands GEC to Pay Doge-1 Satellite Rebooking Fee with Dogecoin – Complete Information

Doge-1 Satellite Rebooking Fee Paid In Dogecoin

Geometric Energy Corporation (GEC), a logistics firm, recently announced that they paid the rebooking fee for the Doge-1 satellite in Dogecoin (DOGE). The CEO of GEC, Samuel Reid, confirmed this in a tweet, stating that they had no other choice but to use DOGE to repay SpaceX if they wanted to proceed with the mission. It is unclear why the payment had to be made in DOGE, but it could be because the initial payment for launching the satellite was also made in the meme coin. SpaceX and Elon Musk may have felt it was appropriate to continue financing the project with DOGE.

SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk, will launch the Doge-1 satellite into lunar orbit. However, this mission does not involve sending the Dogecoin token into space. Instead, the satellite will display advertisements to Earth while orbiting the moon. This development has garnered interest from the DOGE community and could have bullish implications for the crypto token once the satellite is launched.

Doge-1 Launch Delayed

Samuel Reid revealed during a live voice chat on Telegram that the Doge-1 mission would be delayed, leading to the rebooking fee payment. The satellite will no longer launch as a rideshare payload with Intuitive Machines’ IM-1 mission. The delay is attributed to ongoing work on some of the satellite’s equipment. Once completed and necessary approvals are obtained, the satellite will be shipped from the United Kingdom to the United States.

GEC has already obtained approval and licenses from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for launching the satellite. However, Reid did not provide a specific timeline for when Doge-1 will likely launch. He only mentioned that it could launch with the IM-2 mission or another SpaceX mission, depending on when it is shipped to the US.

Hot Take: Doge-1 Satellite Payment in DOGE Highlights Growing Utility

The payment of the Doge-1 satellite rebooking fee in Dogecoin emphasizes the growing utility and acceptance of the meme coin. Geometric Energy Corporation’s use of DOGE for financing this space mission has captured the attention of the DOGE community. While the delay in launching the satellite is unfortunate, it provides more time for anticipation and speculation among DOGE holders. Once the satellite is finally launched, it could further boost confidence and interest in Dogecoin, potentially leading to positive price movements. The Doge-1 project showcases how cryptocurrencies like DOGE are increasingly being integrated into various industries and sectors, expanding their use cases beyond traditional finance.
