Friendzone Launches on Polygon Blockchain
Friendzone, a platform aiming to foster influencer communities, has launched on the Polygon proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchain. The company plans to move to Polygon zkEVM in the future. According to CEO and Co-Founder Kevin Lu, the decision to choose Polygon PoS as their first blockchain was strategic due to its scalability and alignment with consumer-centric Web3 applications.
The Dual-Layered Platform
Friendzone offers a dual-layered platform. The surface part allows users to manage their social connections and activities, while the deeper part called LayerSocial enables developers to create new apps using the platform’s social connections and data.
Integration with Other Apps
Before adopting blockchain technology, Friendzone used an off-chain application for early registrations and social engagement. The platform, developed by pioneers from Band Protocol, Synthetix, and Koinly, aims to expand its ecosystem through integration with other apps.
Growth Spurt and Partnerships
Friendzone experienced significant growth with a 600% increase in registered users from December to January. They completed 10,000 user quests in January alone. Initially, access to their pre-launch progressive web app was limited to partners, investors, and event attendees, resulting in over 3,000 early registrations. Additionally, Polygon recently partnered with Immutable to launch their zkEVM Mainnet for gaming.
