Ripple-Owned Metaco Loses CEO and Chief Product Officer: Report

Swiss cryptocurrency custody firm Metaco has announced the departure of its CEO Adrien Treccani and chief product officer Peter DeMeo. No acting CEO has been named at this time. Ripple acquired Metaco for $250 million in May 2023, marking its first entry into the asset tokenization field. The acquisition was aimed at expanding Ripple’s enterprise offerings, particularly in international markets. Metaco’s competitors include Tangem, Taurus, and GK8. Zodia Custody, backed by Standard Chartered Bank, recently integrated Metaco’s global crypto storage services for global sub-custody services. Meanwhile, Ripple continues to fight the SEC in court over the sale of XRP.
