Oasys Blockchain to Drive Com2uS’s Web3 Expansion in Japan with Cutting-Edge Technology

Com2uS Partners with Oasys Blockchain for Web3 Gaming Expansion in Japan

South Korean game publisher Com2uS has joined forces with the Oasys blockchain project to strengthen its web3 gaming infrastructure. The collaboration aims to expand Com2uS’s presence in the Japanese gaming market, which is considered the world’s third-largest. The Oasys network, known for its associations with major gaming firms like SoftBank, Sega, and Ubisoft, will provide technical support to Com2uS and its blockchain subsidiary XPLA. The goal is to establish a new layer-2 network that complies with Japanese regulations.

New Web3 Games and Integration of Flagship Franchises

Com2uS plans to release two web3 games in Japan by the first half of 2024, based on globally recognized intellectual properties (IPs). This move is a significant step into the Japanese gaming scene and aims to tap into the vast Japanese gaming community of 55 million players. Additionally, Com2uS intends to integrate its flagship game franchises, including ‘Summoners War: Chronicle’ and ‘The Walking Dead: All Stars,’ onto the Oasys network. This transition will not only increase the visibility of these games but also leverage the technical advantages of the Oasys blockchain for an enhanced gaming experience.

Oasys Blockchain Architecture and Market Response

The Oasys blockchain stands out with its combination of a layer-1 blockchain and an Ethereum-compatible, Optimistic rollup-based layer-2 scaling solution. This architecture allows for the creation of individual game versions tailored to different developers’ needs. As a pioneer in mobile game development in South Korea and an Oasys validator, Com2uS will introduce its own XPLA Verse. The announcement of this partnership led to a 22% surge in the value of the Oasys token (OAS). Although the price has since adjusted, the collaboration is seen as a significant development for both Com2uS and the Oasys blockchain.

Dominic Jang, leading business development and Korea initiatives for Oasys, expressed his vision for the blockchain, emphasizing its ability to provide relevant solutions for game companies. He believes the collaboration will lead to innovative gaming experiences that players deserve.
