Blockchain Security Platform Detects Security Breach at Duelbits Crypto Casino
Cyvers, a blockchain security platform, has discovered suspicious transactions indicating a security breach at the crypto casino site Duelbits. The CEO of Cyvers, Deddy Lavid, shared preliminary findings from their investigation with us.
Loss of Wallet Access Control
The investigation suggests that the incident was caused by a loss of wallet access control. This typically occurs when private keys or access credentials to the wallet are exposed or stolen. The suspicious address involved in the breach converted various tokens into Ethereum, a common tactic used by hackers to consolidate assets and make them easier to launder or conceal.
Moving Assets Across Platforms
Furthermore, assets on the BNB chain were transferred to Ethereum, indicating an attempt to obscure their origin by moving them across platforms. The hacker mistakenly swapped all BNB for BSC-USD without considering the lack of gas fees required for bridging the funds to Ethereum.
Hacker’s Solution
To address the lack of gas fees, the hacker utilized FixedFloat, a service that facilitates quick cryptocurrency exchanges, to acquire the necessary funds for the bridging transaction. At present, Duelbits has not provided any updates regarding this incident.
Conclusion
This is an ongoing investigation and we will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
