XRP Lawyer John Deaton Unveils Massachusetts Origins in Light of Potential Senate Candidacy

Attorney John Deaton’s Massachusetts Roots Revealed Amid Senate Run Possibility

As reports circulate about John E Deaton, an attorney representing XRP holders, potentially challenging Senator Elizabeth Warren in the upcoming Massachusetts elections, Deaton opens up about his connection to the state and why he is currently residing there.

Deaton’s Massachusetts Background

Fox journalist Eleanor Terrett noted that Deaton recently changed his address from Rhode Island to Massachusetts, fueling speculation within the crypto community. In response, Deaton shared that he has lived in various cities in Massachusetts and has been a lawyer in the state for 23 years. He has represented asbestos victims and signed his enlistment papers for the Marines in Boston.

Deaton emphasized his family ties to Massachusetts, with one of his daughters attending the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Additionally, he has served as amicus counsel in the SEC vs Ripple case, representing XRP holders in Massachusetts and handling issues for Coinbase customers in the SEC vs Coinbase lawsuit.

Potential Republican Candidate

According to reports from Politico and The Boston Globe, Deaton is seriously considering running as a Republican candidate against Elizabeth Warren, who has been critical of cryptocurrencies. The 2024 United States Senate election page on Wikipedia also lists Deaton as a potential Republican candidate.

The Fairshake Super PAC, backed by the crypto industry, plans to provide significant support for Deaton’s campaign against Warren. Ripple, Coinbase, Kraken, and other major firms have pledged donations to elect pro-crypto candidates. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse expressed his company’s commitment to supporting candidates who promote innovation and cryptocurrencies.

The XRP price may see a boost once Deaton officially announces his candidacy. Currently trading at $0.547, XRP has experienced a nearly 5% increase in the last 24 hours.
