Data Shows Internet Computer Surpasses Cardano in Development Activity
A recent post by Santiment, an on-chain analytics firm, reveals that Internet Computer (ICP) has become the most developed cryptocurrency project in the past month. The development activity of a project is measured by the work delivered on its public GitHub repositories. While commits are often used to measure this activity, they can be skewed when a project is forked. To address this issue, Santiment tracks events instead of commits.
Based on their respective development activities over the past thirty days, Internet Computer has emerged as the top cryptocurrency project with nearly 467 events. This significant increase in output has propelled ICP above Cardano and Polkadot. Ethereum has also improved its standing but only moved from tenth to ninth place.
What High Development Activity Means for Internet Computer
A high development activity indicates strong commitment from developers towards a project. It can be a factor to consider when determining the legitimacy of a project. Projects with low development activity may be associated with rug pulls and lack long-term maintenance and improvement plans. While development activity does not directly impact price, ICP’s position at the top of the list is a positive sign for its long-term prospects.
