A New Crypto Project Introduces “Proof of Humanity” Protocol
A new crypto project, backed by the team behind Polygon (MATIC), is set to launch a “proof of humanity” protocol. The Humanity Institution, in collaboration with Polygon Labs and Animoca Brands, is developing a zero-knowledge-proof blockchain that utilizes palm scanning technology.
Verifying Identity with Palm Scanning Technology
The protocol aims to verify that users are real individuals and not AI by using palm-scanning technology. It employs a “proof of humanity” mechanism, similar to Worldcoin’s iris-scanning technology. The advantage of the Humanity Protocol is that it avoids invasive ID protocols, making it more user-friendly.
Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, highlights the significance of this technology in creating a decentralized digital identity solution that respects principles of ownership and promotes equity and inclusion for all participants.
Wide Range of Web3-Based Applications
The partnership between the Humanity Institution, Polygon Labs, and Animoca Brands will result in various web3-based applications. These include fully on-chain games, Decentralized Social Media (DeSO), enterprise DeFi solutions, Faridrops, Network States, Real World Assets (RWA), and Decentralized Physical Infrastructure (DePIN) systems.
Testnet Launch Imminent
The Humanity Protocol is preparing to launch its testnet soon, according to the press release.
